Like many multinational companies operating in Indonesia, BASF found their offices to be both outdated and ineffectual for their changing corporate culture. CDA was commissioned to accommodate newly acquired business lines, renovate existing space and create a more open environment.

BASF is a leader in the field of Research and Development for the chemical industry. From paints to fertilizers, BASF is a high tech company for practical everyday use. Using this as inspiration CDA sought to create a modern, fresh, yet comfortable environment, combining the open cleanliness of the labs with the natural colors of their products. While not instantly arresting or overly trendy the interior is one that is best appreciated over time and use. The resulting forms flow from one space to another melding function and familiarity within a more modern use of space.

The real success of this project was achieving all this through a phased renovation that never interrupted the day-to-day operations of the business proving that good design appears effortless yet is the product of a lot of team work, sweat and experience.
