CONOCO PHILIPS
Corporate Facelift

With operations in Indonesia for over 30 years, Gulf Indonesia Resources has a major presence in Jakarta. The renovation of the principle public reception and meeting areas had to project a robust new image to support the Company’s core values.

The design for the renovation of the principle public reception area and the main meeting room, had to be stylish, handled with subtlety and confidence to create a space that confirms the core values of Gulf Indonesia Resources – people, safety, innovation, teamwork and responsibility. Parker Van Der Burgh were commissioned to represent a company committed to setting a standard of excellence in everything they do.

The overall effect is designed to provide a calmly coloured environment, rich in timber and style, where hospitality and professionalism are intentionally portrayed. The design reflects security, style, and existing versus new space. Although distinct from the rest of the office, the renovated areas conform to the overall design concept.

The entrance to the office immediately creates a powerful impact. Against ubiquitous white walls the design introduces luxurious materials, rich in sheen and texture – marble, polished timber, glass and sensual lambskin fabrics. The impression is of a sumptuous area, rich in design character and precision detail.

Planning was of paramount importance for this face-lift project. Planning, like a map allows a route to a destination, and very importantly its lets you know where you are at any point, and what you have to do to get to your destination. GGS understands the importance of planning and worked very closely with Parker and Van Der Burgh to ensure that they were prepared for any challenge that may arise and that the project objectives of time, quality and cost were met.

The furniture within this spacious and elegant reception area is a principle design feature that required a superior quality of finish to complete and complement the simplicity of the design. Quality control and superior manufacturing facilities, enabled GGS to deliver a level of quality that the client and architects are proud of.

GGS’s ongoing relationship with the client and the architects, their investment in technology and intensive planning and their commitment to quality are among the many factors that contributed to the project’s success.

GGS takes great pride in repeat business and projects like Gulf Indonesia Resources are a great compliment and the driving force behind the growth of GGS.
