SONY ERICSSON Merging two international leaders, Sony and Ericsson required a design that would appropriately reflect the strength and position of these two revolutionary technology pioneers. Created with a balance of innovation and technology, the new premises of Sony Ericsson raises awareness that this is a company of the future with an exciting and fun team of people. Sony and Ericsson had established identities and images, and both companies have received much public recognition and success. Essentially the new office had to reflect the strength of each company individually as well represent their union and merged future direction. The Sony Ericsson new office space, clearly demonstrates a sense of clarity about the future. Innovation and an understanding of the commitment to future trends were the primary values behind the design concept. Sony Ericsson’s global exposure and known brand names obviously set some of the guidelines with the choice of colours and office space planning. Following several meetings with the client, Design and Associates came up with a design concept that didn’t follow conventional rules typical of the standard office environment. Basically, the brief was an amalgamated philosophy that maintained the principles of hospitality, a reflection of Sony’s Japanese culture and the modern and futuristic vision of their Scandinavian partner, Ericsson. The design team controlled and limited the use of colour to metal, polished silver and the rich tones of dark heavy grain wood to create a workplace charged with energy to facilitate communication and work procedures. Design and Associates successfully created a workplace that aspired to the principles of a company that is already bringing us into the future, through innovation, superior technology, transparency and productivity. |
